2013 Kawasaki ZX6R Exhaust
With the release of the 2013 Kawasaki ZX6R or Ninja 636 as it's called Kawaski has made waves in the motorcycle community. With it's added displacement they have upped useable midrange power as well as peak horsepower. The downside is they have basically snubbed AMA Pro Racing because the bike will not be legal to race in Daytona Sportbike or AMA Supersport.
Back to the ZX6R, the bike is beautifull and I am not a Kawasaki fan. The exhaust on the other hand is a travesty. It's big, it's ugly, it's heavy and it sounds like crap. This is where the exhaust experts from Graves Motorsports come to the rescue. They have release a new GP Style slip on exhaust for the 2013 ZX6R that weighs only 2.2 pounds. With titanium and carbon fiber construction it is light weight and strong. The exhaust looks amazing on the bike and the power gains are significant. The sound is the scream of a pro race bike going down the straight.

Cheap motorcycle helmets
I see many customers come in the shop wanting a cheap motorcycle helmet. I do my best to explain to them to the difference between a cheap helmet and the more high end motorcycle helmets. When I say cheap I'm talking people who want to spend $99 to save their life.
Are all motorcycle helmets created equal?
No, they arent. I believe the bare minum you should spend on a helmet to be $200 and spend it on a name brand. Most of the helmets in that price range offer good protection as well as a few other features. I personally wont wear anything sub $400.
The more you spend doesnt always mean more or better protection but it does mean more comfort and more features. The cheap motorcycle helmets usually have harsh liners, a generic fit and poor venting. Add that to poor lens clarity and lots of wind noise and you have a $99 helmet that you wont wear because it's an uncomfortable sweatbox.
Spend the money, step up to a high quality, slightly more expensive helmet and you'll find that you wont notice your wearing it. You will be comfortable, you will be cool from the better venting and you will be far safer.

Bell Star motorcycle helmet review
I've worn all of the brands of motorcycle helmets in the last 3 years. I really like the Arai Corsair V, the Shoei RF1100 and both the Bell Star and Bell RS-1. Personally I feel the Arai Corsair V is a little bit out of reach for price, not that my head isnt worth $900 but if I can get equal protection for less I will.
The Shoei RF1100 is amazingly comfortable and vents very well. It's a little heavy and the spoiler on the back of the helmet would catch on the neck of my race suit. Loved the helmet on the street, it just didnt work for me on the track.
The Bell Star is VERY light weight. It has a carbon fiber build and the graphics are excellent. The venting is in line with the Arai and Shoei with the wind noise level being a little higher. It doesnt matter to me, I wear ear plugs. The helmet has a high cut so it doesnt get caught up on my suit. The eye port is large and offers excellent vision. The highlight is the availability of the SolFX Transitions shield for the helmet. Having an auto tinting shield for my helmet is icing on the cake.
Overall you cant go wrong on any of the 3, it comes down to fit and graphics.
